Early Autumn Roses

To be honest, I started to do a post about something else but at the last minute
I decided that the roses in my garden are so beautiful right now that I had to
show some of them to you...

I took all these photos a few days ago and truly feel the roses are celebrating the last
beautiful days of their late summer/early autumn blooms before coming back again in
a few weeks with their smaller, but still lovely, fall blooms.

This week the roses seem to be especially spectacular with a riot of beautiful
colors and blooms.
As you can see, I'm really not in any rush for autumn and winter because those
months seem to last so long.  I feel very fortunate that here in Southern California
our roses will bloom into early November.
I hope you enjoy seeing these last days of late summer/early autumn roses.

I hope you have a wonderful week!

I will be joining Rose Vignettes for Fresh Cut Friday.
I will be joining How Sweet The Sound for Pink Saturday.

Good choice - a glimpse back at summer for us on our foggy island! I've missed your posts - hope life is not too hectic and that you've healed over the past weeks.

Oh, Susan, those roses are so pretty! You are lucky to live where you do. Everything here is all faded now, mostly just leaves...a lot of them on the ground :)

Just opened your blog, saw the images and...immediately the scent.... could smell your roses!
Yes! That's true!

Isn't it lovely and wonderful to have roses blooming right through the year and hopefully into November!
We all know about red-golden autumn leaves - but only very few of us have roses by now!!!!!

Just a wonderful post for my Sunday evening while weather is turning a bit greyish here....
Thank YOU!

Also thank you for your - really lovely - comments! I do appreciate your thoughtful words.

Hope that your knee will improve, step by step! But believe me, it will take time, and please don't rush, take it easy and unfortunately you have to be patient. I had a knee/miniscus/endoscopie in 1994, and it took me nearly a year to get back to 'normal'. But then never a problem again.

Heartily greetings and best wishes,

Beautiful roses Susan and I can't believe you still have so many in bloom, lucky you. I have two yellow roses that I hope bloom before frost hits us other then that everything here is going to sleep for their long winters nap.

Girl, I have to say I'm turnin' an ugly color of envy green here!!!

Your roses are just majestically beautiful. I have 38 rose bushes here on the Ponderosa's acre yard. We had floods early spring that truly washed the needed trace minerals that are needed to grow beautiful plants right outta the soil. I've spent the summer tryin' to replenish. I've worked hard baby!!!

I just wanted to thank ya for your visit and sweet comment over at my place. Please drop in often...the door is always open.

God bless ya and enjoy your fantastic week!!! :o)

You just about blew me away with this magnificent rose presentation. They all are stunning. One of my most favorite flowers ever. Thanks for letting us enjoy them with you.

Oh I want my roses to look like yours. I have a major beetle problem. I spray with soap and water and they still attack my roses..So much they can eat away a rose in one day..and then we use stronger stuff which is only bad for our health..the beetles have no fear..
Thanks so much for coming by and following is appriciated so much..
Enjoy the weekend..

I visited your blog today. I just love all your rose photos. Roses are a favorite of mine, especially the red rose. While I was scrolling down, I noticed the surfer pictures and started to smile, as my son and husband have surfed the waves all throughout California. Me and my daughters started a new blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. I would enjoy coming back to visit with you. Your blog is filled with beauty, and your pictures are so cheerful. I hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day,
