Sweet Lilacs

A few days ago I went for an early afternoon walk and was delighted to find so many
varieties of lilacs in bloom.  The colors were amazing.  All were a magnificent proclamation
of spring!

I had never seen pink lilacs on my walks in past years.  So I was delighted to come
across them now.  So very delicate and beautiful.  I also think they are very romantic...

The lavender lilacs are so traditional and beautiful and the scent is heavenly...

I am always intrigued by the two-toned lilacs...

I think the white lilacs hold a special place for so many of us because they are so sweet
and lovely...

And, the royalty of pure purple and a divine scent...

Wishing you a wonderful weekend with bunches of lovely lilacs...

Enjoy a wonderful weekend!

Every shot is beautiful - but those two-toned lilacs are really special.
I think that lilac is my favourite spring bloom. Ours are not even near to blooming yet, but when they do, I open the dining room window to let the perfume waft in.

What beautiful varieties of lilacs! I swear I could smell them as I strolled through the pictures!
Our lilacs are not out yet and the bunch of blossoms are very puny. :( It is our strange weather, I am sure. Way too warm in March and then cold, raw and windy all through April. Poor flowers don't know if they are coming or going!

Really beautiful Susan!!! I've never seen the two-toned purple before they are quite lovely. With so many varieties to choose from I say, just pick them all. Lilacs reminds me of my father bringing in a large bouquet for my mother such a precious memory ants and all. :)))
Happy May Day!

Funny, I was just
dreaming, today, of
what type of lilacs
I would plant in my
yard, if I could.....
We have the Miss Kim
lilacs that bloom a
bit later, but they
are sort of wimpy in
comparison to the
good, old-fashioned
variety!

I just took Gracie out
a few minutes ago and
crossed the road to
smell my neighbor's
heavenly LILAC lilacs.
That smell brings me
right back to first grade
and carrying a bunch
into school for the teacher : )

Happy Wednesday, Susan!

Hi Susan.
Many thanks for your lovely comments over at our blog, glad you've come along for the adventure.

Your Lilac pictures are wonderful. I'll echo the lovely Karin to say that my favourite are the white and dusky purple two tone Lilac. How lucky you are to live in an area where your neighbours have planted such an abundance of sweet smelling Lilac.
Warm regards.

Hi Susan!!

Oh I absolutely ADORE lilacs!!! Where did you see such beauties? Do you have them in your garden? I'm trying to find out where I can get something like this to plant - we just moved into our fixer last summer, and this is our first spring here, so trying to cultivate our garden or at least figure out what I want (even for next year). :) Wishing you a most delightful week - these images really made my day!!!

Jessie
