Textures of Autumn

All of a sudden Autumn has fallen upon Southern California.

Many leaves have already left the branches...

And are resting on the ground...

I really don’t decorate for seasons. But now and then I do add a few things here and
there to add a little interest. Do you have a “Catch-all” table?  Well, I do and it is
directly outside of my kitchen.  I use it when I pull things out of the cupboards which
will be distributed later or to drop things at the end of the day.
As I mentioned in my last post I have had a bad cold and no energy whatsoever.
So, this year I gathered things and just put them on my “Catch-all” table until I had
more energy to distribute and add them to rooms.  But a few days ago a friend called
and was on her way over for a visit.  I really didn’t have time to move things around so
I just lit a couple of little candles. It looked very autumnal so I decided to show you my
“Catch-all” table and next time I will show you my softer autumnal lighter toned table.
Believe me, things never stay on the “Catch-all” table for long.  When these items are
not together on one table they certainly do not look quite so fall-ish.

I love autumn and I love that we are heading to my favorite holiday, Thanksgiving.
I adore pumpkins and I always look for just the ones I want and I hope they last
through Thanksgiving.  This year I enjoy the look of the Musque De Provence
pumpkin from France.

As you can see, there are also small pumpkins and gourds on the table and inside a
willow cloche...

The delectable, crisp fall fruits...Apples, Pears, Grapes, Persimmons...

The glass cloche does not want to be outdone by the willow...

Autumn is certainly a season of texture...

The Autumn Hydrangia in all it's beautiful glory...

I hope you have a wonderful week and enjoy the cool weather.

Wow, you can
really style
things in an
amazing way!
The texture of
the table, alone,
is gorgeous and
when you add all
the other lovely
goodies, it IS
magic! The
hydrangeas are
such a pretty color.
Mine go from green
to white to brown;
nothing like yours.
Hope you are on
the mend and have
a great week!

Your table display is gorgeous. The hydrangeas are a fantastic color, the pumpkins are beautiful but I have to say what really caught my eye is the persimmons... I'm going to have to get some of those for my Thanksgiving table. Simple and beautiful.

Thanks!
Chris

Those goodies all look like they were meant to be there together on your "catchcall". I hope that by now you are feeling better and are enjoying this beautiful fall. Love the hydrangeas and enjoy seeing a similar variety on my morning runs.

You have so many pretty things in your decor! I wasn't sure what I was seeing...that I really LOVE, but Penny has called it a willow cloche! It's amazing! Would love to see more photos of it! ♥

I love the autumn leaves massed around the base of the tree and I still like kicking them into the air and watching all the beautiful colours as they float to the ground again. Those hydrangeas are spectacular, do they stay that colour if you dry them?

Wait, what? You're going to Sonoma?
When? Can you stay with me?
I've been meaning to ask you what your Thanksgiving plans are because I was thinking if you don't have any set plans you could come celebrate with us! All my brothers (3) are going out of town this Thanksgiving so it's only going to be me, my husband (the world's greatest cook) and my Mom. I asked them if they'd like to meet my new friend and they all said, YES!!
So, how about it? Are you game?

This post is stunning!
You've made me love the Fall look which I've never loved before being introduced to your catch all table. It's delectable as well as stunning!
I didn't realize you've been sick!
I'm worried sick about my boy who is super sick also. I'm threatening to drive down this week as I can't take it anymore! He's not getting better and the student health center is abismal! If he doesn't walk into the emergency room at The Reagan Medical Center today then I'm going to make good on my threat!
You must promise me that you will carve out at least a bit of time when you come to Sonoma. We are practically walking distance from the Oakland Airport. If there is any way you can stay a night either on the way or the way back I would be thrilled, but seriously no pressure. I hate pressure :)
Thanks for your lovely email response. Maybe next year?
Lots of Love,
Terri
