A Quick Stop At Santa Monica Antique Mart

A friend and I met for lunch and decided to stop in at the Santa Monica Antique Mart.
It is not one of the places that I go to often. I decided to take a few pictures so that
you might take a peek inside the store.  As you will notice the spaces are very close
together so unfortunately it was difficult to get a wide or tall picture.

I fell in love with these two-toned alabaster pair of table lamps. I think they are
absolutely exquisite.
I have not seen many two-toned alabaster lamps.

I also really like the other alabaster lamps standing next to the two-toned...

One of my favorite pieces of the day is this bisque lamp laden with grapes. It has a
marble base and I thought you would really enjoy seeing it.  I wish I had been able
to get a tall picture of it because the shade is perfect with the lamp, but people were
working and redesigning all around it so I just had to snap while I could.

A few more pieces...

Dogs hand carved of stone...

A touch of  Roseville...

Just imagine...

A Hand Painted Screen with Bamboo...

A Large Map Of Paris...hanging from the rafters...

Masks In A Frame...

Another Favorite...An Old Metal Ship Box...

Did anything catch your eye?

  1. Looks like a fun day of shopping. I love that urn shaped alabaster lamp, the one with the rope twist :)

  2. I like all the lamps - I'd be hard pressed to pick one over the others. I collect old city views - water colours or etchings from places I've visited. I'd be eying a lovely framed example I spied in one of the pictures.

  4. Too many things caught my eye, but that is no surprise. It was nice to see one of my dealers and his stuff, that I love to death, Mike, in the first two pixs! Thanks for visually taking me shopping!!

  9. I just love the Roseville Pottery! And the map of Paris, too! We have a reproduction map of Paris in our computer room that I had matted & framed. My husband & I were in Santa Monica earlier this year, (visiting his nephew & his wife who live in the LA area) and I wish that I hadn't missed the antique market, it looks awesome!
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, and for your nice comments! I am your newest follower :)

  10. Oh, alabaster lamps and the painting of the ship. I wonder what kind of china that group is, with the raised flowers and leaves. I have one piece of that type.

  12. Love love love the alabaster lamps...and the apothecary looking chest...or maybe a vintage library card chest? I can not tell what it is - but I do love it.

For all of my trips to Santa Monica in the last five years - and there have been many - I can not believe that I never visited this place. It is on my list in December for sure.

  22. Susan!!!
I've been so remiss in not getting over here to tell you how much you have helped me this past few weeks with the transition to empty nesthood!
Your phone call while I was in the UCLA Store was a blessing at just the right moment! I felt your love and support and just knowing you are in the area makes me feel so secure and happy. I cannot wait to come back. I especially can't wait to meet you in person and hang out! I know we have lots in store over the next 4 years together, here and there. For now I'm looking forward to establishing a new normal. I heard from my friends Eddie and Jaithan that they are planning a tour of the Long Beach Flea Market in November, so let's make sure we go... OK?
And of course you know what caught my eye right? You saved it for last! I'm dying over the old metal ship box. Was it a fortune? Please tell me because, if I can afford it... I would love to have it! You know me so well.
I'm sending so much love and gratitude to you today my sweet friend.
    Love and kisses,
    Terri
